McIlroy sinks hole-in-one at PGA Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Four-time major winner Rory McIlroy aced the par-3 15th hole at Spyglass Hill on Thursday, sinking a hole-in-one at the PGA Tour's Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
The 35-year-old from Northern Ireland used a wedge from 119 yards and rattled the flagstick as his ball plunged directly into the hole.
Third-ranked McIlroy, a back-nine starter, smiled and traded high-fives with his caddie and playing partners after the hole-in-one, which put him briefly in a share of the lead at 3-under par after six holes.
McIlroy was making his US PGA Tour 2025 season debut after opening his global campaign two weeks ago by sharing fourth at Dubai.
The ace was McIlroy's second career hole-in-one on the PGA Tour after the first came at the eighth hole at TPC River Highlands in the first round of the 2023 Travelers Championship.
McIlroy, seeking his 27th PGA tour title, was runner-up at last year's US Open and won the 2024 DP World Tour Championship, his sixth career Race to Dubai crown.
McIlroy's ace was the first on the sixth hole at Spyglass Hill since England's Justin Rose sank one in 2023 on the way to winning the title.
Players compete at Spyglass Hill and Pebble Beach courses in the event.
